Intentional Living Quotes to Carry Along in 2017
I originally was going to share with you guys a few of my 2017 goals/"resolutions" but one of them is having less road rage and jeeze oh man I don't want you guys to hold me to that! Haha... So instead I am sharing with you guys a few of my favorite quotes that I will be carrying with me throughout the upcoming year.
"Be steady and well-ordered in your life so that you can be fierce and original in your work."
"I will stay gentle
no matter what I endure,
I am so much more."
Tyler Knott Gregson
"And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
"When life is sweet, say thank you and celebrate. And when life is bitter, say thank you and grow."
"Stop measuring days by degree of productivity and start experiencing them by degree of presence."
If only I may grow: firmer, simpler, – quieter, warmer.
I am striving to make 2017 the year where I begin to live more intentionally. Less in my head and instead, existing with my full being in everything that life sends my way. The year where I create space for the things that set my soul aflame. Sunsets, art, a soft breeze, cooking, early mornings, good music, an autumn rain, air dried linens, a good meal with family, learning, growing. Leaving out the things that take away from truly being whole and present in the moment. A year full of warmth and light even when it is cold and gray. The year I base my joy on The Truth, not on circumstances.
The Lord has put the word
on my heart for the past couple months and that is my word for this upcoming year. I no longer find myself with the urge to share everything on social media. I am able to walk away from my phone for a couple hours. I don't find it fun or get fulfillment from pointlessly scrolling through my instagram feed for an hour or tweeting a tweet or rebloging a photo on tumblr. My sole desire is to take part only in the things of life that benefit my wholeness and wellness. I am thankful for 2016 because it has shown me this. It has shown me what I need to change. The areas I need to increase and those I need to decrease. The quotes I shared above are quotes that I will keep close to my heart throughout the year to remind myself of all this. I hope they inspire you as much as they inspire me.
I want to thank every single one of you reading this right now, and thank you to everyone who has kept up and read my other posts. It's because of you that I was able to grow this space over this past year bigger than I imagined and into something that I love to do. I can't wait to keep connecting with you in 2017!
Happy New Year to you all!
