Cottage in the Woods | A Spring Blend

Saturday, April 29, 2017

This blend has a woodsy scent and it reminds me of a quaint little cottage in the woods on a beautiful spring day where the breeze is warm and carries the scent of freshly bloomed flowers through the open windows. This blend consists of Geranium, Clary Sage, Lemon, and Grapefruit. Let's take a look at the benefits each of these oils provide in this spring blend:

Geranium- Reduces allergies (very beneficial this time of year!), improves brain clarity, relieves anxiety and stress, supports adrenal function.

Clary Sage- Balances hormones, increases circulation, relieves stress and anxiety, uplifts mood

Lemon- Cleanses the air, awakens the mind, uplifts mood

Grapefruit- Cleanses and freshens the air, uplifts mood, relieves stress

This blend can be used as either a diffuser or a room spray! The amounts can always be adjusted to your preference. I know some people like to use a lot in their diffusers, some prefer a little. For this blend I suggest keeping Geranium as the lowest variable because the scent is very strong and will overtake the others. A little goes a long way with Geranium! Remember to always use filtered water in both your diffuser and room sprays.

1 drop Geranium
1 drops Clary sage
3 drops Lemon
3 drops Grapefruit

Room Spray:
3 drops Geranium
3 drops Clary Sage
10 drops Lemon
10 drops Grapefruit

To make a room spray, I fill up a 2oz glass amber jar with filtered water, add a sprinkle of epsom salt, add my oils, and shake to combine. Adding epsom salt, witch hazel, or alcohol to your room spray keeps the oils dispersed through the water of the spray bottle instead of separating. This allows for an even scent to be sprayed every time it's used!

This blend is uplifting, freshening, and is the perfect blend for spring. What are your favorite spring blends?
