Iced Honey Lavender Almond Latte

Hey you! Lately I've been pretty bored in the coffee area because all I ever drink it black! I'm thinking about expanding my horizons and trying new coffee recipes. I made this one yesterday and I'm gonna share it because it was soo good! I normally can't drink iced coffee in the winter (brr) but today I'm cranking up the heat and sipping this delicious iced latte. Join me!

In order to get the lavender honey flavor, you first need to make a honey lavender simple syrup. Don't fret- it's simple!

Honey Lavender Simple Syrup
What you need:
1 teaspoon dried organic lavender
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey

To make the simple syrup:
Mix all ingredients in a sauce pan over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Then simmer for about 10 minutes until it becomes thicker and can coat the spoon. It will get even more syrup-like when cools! Remove from heat and strain out lavender pieces and transfer to an air tight jar. Store in the fridge :)

Iced Honey Lavender Almond Latte
What you need:
The simple syrup that we just made
1-2 shots of espresso (no espresso machine? just use 2-4oz of strongly brewed coffee instead!)
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
Ice

To make the iced latte:
Begin with your syrup. I suggest starting with less and adding more if needed. It's suuuper sweet so you really don't need much! I'm not a fan of real sugary coffee so I just add a teensie bit.

Pour the almond milk and stir it into the syrup. Add ice and your espresso and there ya have it!
